Updates:
ATTENTION!
Due to the move of training resources to WaveWorks, some training modules may not be immediately available on March 20. Please be patient as OEHS works to migrate and consolidate training with updated content to better serve the Tulane community.
Note that Student Employees will now use WaveWorks to access training, instead of Canvas. Canvas will continue to be available to students who are not classified as Student Employees.
Attention:
Starting at 5:00 PM on March 5th, SciQuest will be shut down in preparation for the transition to WaveWorks. Until the new system goes live on April 13th, any chemical purchases must be made using a P-Card.
During this transition period (March 5th – April 13th), the OEHS approval process will be conducted through an alternative procedure. Please follow these instructions for all chemical orders:
• Check the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for each chemical you intend to order.
• If the SDS contains the signal word "WARNING" or "DANGER", please send an email to OEHS@tulane.edu with the following information:
o Full name of the chemical
o Manufacturer’s name
o Quantity ordered
o Note: You may list all chemicals requiring approval in a single email.
• If the chemical does not have a signal word, no email to OEHS is required.
• Airgas orders will be communicated to OEHS separately and do not require an email from you.
Please note that this process will only be in place until the WaveWorks launch on April 13th.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Mold and Indoor Air Quality Investigations
OEHS and Facilities Services collaborate on mold and indoor air quality investigations to ensure that the root cause of the moisture intrusion or odor is addressed. The most efficient way to ensure that mold and indoor air quality concerns are addressed is to submit a Service Wave to Campus Services. OEHS engages directly with Campus Services.
First Report of Injuries
The injury and illness reporting process for employees has changed. Immediately following a workplace injury, notify your supervisor and call the Employee Injury Call Center at (855) 433-9938 to speak with a registered nurse. The registered nurse will evaluate your incident and determine care.
New Resources:
- Please review the Safety Checklist for Telework Employees if you are performing telework.
- Please review the Annual Laboratory Safety Inspection Prep Checklist
