The Office of Environmental Health and Safety is pleased to announce that nominations are currently being accepted for the Departmental Safety Representatives Excellence Awards.
This is an opportunity to acknowledge those DSRs who have made exceptional contributions to safety in your department or across the university. We encourage you to submit your nominations and share instances where your DSR went above and beyond to ensure safety and compliance.
Winners will receive prices and be recognized during the annual DSR Appreciation Luncheon on November 11th.
Completed nomination forms should be emailed to the OEHS Help desk at oehs@tulane.edu by close of business Friday, October 23, 2026.
Eligibility:
- Current Office, Lab, or Facilities DSR for a department or unit
- Actively participating in the DSR program by attending quarterly meetings and submitting Focus Inspections
Previous award winners are not eligible. See the Hall of Fame list of past winners.
Selection Criteria. Nominees should have achieved outstanding success in one or more of the following areas:
- Consistent commitment to DSR responsibilities
- Proactive support of safe work practices and hazard awareness
- Responsiveness and collaboration with OEHS
- Leadership in identifying and resolving safety concerns
- Support for inspections, emergency preparedness, training, incident follow-up, or corrective actions
Positive contributions to the University's safety culture
